The Walter Lord Library serves all students in the Middle School, and the library resources are open to all members of the Gilman community. The Library is a place where students can visit throughout the day to browse for books, collaborate and commune with friends, discover a new interest, or get help with any academic or tech issue.

At the start of the academic year, all students will receive instruction in the use of library resources including how to request books and access online resources from school and home. In addition to curating a richly diverse literature collection and research tools, the Library sponsors Book Clubs, the Middle School Supplementary Reading program, Books and Breakfast homeroom meetings, Book Fairs, and Author Visits. The Library also designs the annual Summer Reading lists.
